Ludwig,

I think that we are both right. I can’t see how Caroline could have known that Mark was going to commit the murders. I can see how easily she could have been deceived initially and why she would not want to believe that her husband killed anyone. But in her heart of hearts, she has to know that he did.

The thing I was getting at was the call a woman made to the Wilshire police station around 10:30 and possibly another call a woman made to 911 around that time. In one instance the woman said she was from Channel 4 and she asked the cop on duty if the police were sitting on two bodies on the West Side (Brentwood). Allegedly, another woman (possibly the same one) called 911 asking about a double homicide on the 800 block of Bundy.

We know about the Wilshire call because we have the testimony of the cop who answered it and the record of his follow-up. We have to leave open the possibility that the report of a woman calling 911 was merely a corruption of the first story. There is no evidence to back it up. No one even attempted to talk to the 911 operators on duty at 10:30. All we know for sure is that the call (or calls) helped to fix the end time of the murders at 10:30, as opposed to 10:40 or 10:45. Caroline. Fuhrman was my first choice as the woman who made the call but the more I examined the corollaries to her call to Geraldo a month later, the less likely it seemed. I thought (and I still think) that Fuhrman or one of his accomplices called a female reporter from Channel 4 (best guess – Tracy Savage) before the murders and she made the call or calls.

The murder/frame-up was structured in a way that made everyone who signed up to the O.J. –did-it story early in the investigation accomplices after the fact. The fewer accomplices before the fact, the better. But not even the person who used Fuhrman’s credit card (if there was such a credit card purchase – no one has every bothered to check) had to know why Fuhrman asked him to use it. Afterwards it was too late. His mouth was sealed by the fact that doing it, regardless of the reason he thought he was doing it, made him an accomplice to murders before the fact. –Jasper
