It shows how "helpful" Marcia Clark was for Fuhrman, fully distracting from him as a suspect, fully running for his defense and instead accusing Cassio.
I think an even better title for your book would have been "Othello in West L.A., directed by Mark Fuhrman" or similar, since few people (culture...) will remember "Iago", but still know "Othello". And the similarity to Othello really fits like nothing else does.
